About us

About
  • About us
We are a French-Spanish couple who decided in 2012 to step aside from our busy life of managers.  After two years living in Africa with our son Lucas, fulfilling the dream of building and managing a safari camp in the savannah (Kandili Camp), we returned to Spain looking for a place where we could recreate some of the sensations we lived in middle of the wilderness.
  • A home where to enjoy a natural way of life, where our children could grow outdoors, a place where to appreciate the colors of the sunsets, a place to relax and enjoy the small but so important details: an open sky full of stars, the silence only broken by the singing of the birds or showering outdoor enjoying wonderful views over the landscape.
  • A year and a half ago we moved from Madrid where our second son Mathis came to life and settled in Tolox, Andalucia. Months later our dog Max joined our family, an affectionate Andalusian podenco adopted from a shelter in Marbella.
An African adventure
Should you want to learn more about our stay in Maasai Mara (Kenia), please consult our blog (only in French I am afraid but it´s full of pictures): http://acampinos2002.wixsite.com/outofkenya and the WEB site of the camp is well worth a visit: www.kandilicamp.com (in English and Spanish).

Sustainable Tourism

We like to think that each of us is responsible for leaving a positive footprint on the planet so that our future generations can live in a healthier and happier world. For this reason, our house is a reflection of the tourism we want and the traveler we would like to welcome.

Responsible Travelers

A conscientious and enjoyable traveler. Who enjoys contact with nature, who is respectful of the environment and appreciates peace on the trails. Who enjoys meetings and talks with our neighbors, who appreciates the wisdom of grandmothers, of those who transmit ancient trades or the tradition and culture present in the winding streets of our town's Moorish past. A traveler who enjoys simple things, the luxury of being able to enjoy a good glass of wine, liquid gold and olives from our centuries-old olive trees, artisan and traditional products such as cheeses, honey, stews or tapas. That is why we promote sustainable experiences in contact with locals and whose benefits from tourism revert to the rural economy.

Low Ecological Impact

In our house we take advantage of the sun's energy to produce our electricity 100% with solar energy and we promote measures that promote energy saving such as: the use of low consumption lighting, thermal insulation, the use of energy efficient appliances and the absence of AC . In addition, we select, whenever possible, products with packaging made from recycled, biodegradable and returnable materials. We provide our guests with garbage separation bins and practical information on recycling and the location of the closest containers and clean points.
